Port Goole are proud to announce our growth and evolution plans for season two as a club.
Major change number one is our First Team dropping from the Doncaster Saturday Division One and entering a new challenge in the name of the East Riding Division Four. Our first season in the Doncaster League was one full of twists and turns, results have become more competitive and performances improving week by week and that has reflected in our score lines BUT the East Riding league offers us a different challenge for next season.
All members of Port Goole would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved in the Doncaster League for the experience we have gained in our valuable first season.
The second huge addition is our U23/Academy side, more details regarding a league entry and training is expected in the coming weeks, keep your eyes pealed for the upcoming news. Anybody who is interested in being involved with this side should send a email to either Adam Ruane or Dion Sowden for more details.
Our Reserve / Sunday Team will still be competing in the Making An Impact Charity League during Season Two, raising money for selected charities and doing our bit as a club to help those in need. Dependant on signings and interest the opportunity of a competitive Sunday League team is also on the cards, so keep your eyes and ears pealed for more information regarding this too.
Pre-Season is looking like an exciting time for us as a club with many things lined up such as 2 games vs our good friends AFC Yorkies at The Ecopower Stadium, the home of Doncaster Rovers, plus a friendly against ex-pro's in the name of Inter Legends with big name players such as Fraizer Campbell, Ciaran Clarke plus Manager, Shaun Wallace (aka The Dark Destroyer from ITV's The Chase). This is a vital game for the club in aid of Save Our Hospital, Goole; again, the club trying to do our part in saving the Goole Hospital as it faces potential closure.
We look forward to welcoming faces, new and old, into our season two plans. Once again, thank you for your continued support from Players, Staff and the local community.
